Text description.The site is located right facing to the Chine South Sea, the Pesisir Payang and the landmarks of the Kuala Terengganu landmarks. Thus, the design of orientation is an essential intention to promote appreciation of the nature view on the site (Pesisir Payang) as well as promote engagement and involvement with the nature. Tropca Hotel intends to provide a platform to gather people to experience the view of the Kuala Terenganu ,Pesisr Payang. Meanwhile, in order to promote engagement and involve with the nature, the traditional games in Kuala Terengganu is provided to promote the participation in the Terengganu traditional game.

A landscape for playing traditional games is provided as well as taking advantage of blending the hotel design with the landscape. The human interaction to be presented and wish to influence the guests, may all who enter here as guests, leave as friends.The landscape for playing traditional games is provided as well as responded to the padang Maziah which the pedestrian from Pesisir Payang direction would get a sight to the cheerful landscape.

A bus lay-by is proposed at the west side of the hotel along the Jalan Masjid Abidin. A canopy is provided at the bus lay-by that lead the hotel guests to the hotel foyer without exposing to the hot sun and raining problem.The car park spots in Jalan Tok Lam are generally not proper designed and most of the provided ones will interrupt the road. Hence,parkings are provided within the site boundary for the convenience of the hotel guests. There are total of 31 car parking, 2 disabled car parking, and 10 motorcycle parking provided. Besides, there is a 2-meter planting strip built along the site perimeter for landscape purpose and also act as a buffer to the surrounding. There is also a pedestrian walkway offset from the 2m planting strip for the safety of the users.

The noise sources are mainly from Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin (noise from vehicle) and Jalan Masjid Abidin (noise from human activities in Padang Maziah). Thus, the hotel are seated align to the corner of the boundary. Thus, the guest can have a very quiet and peace stay and vacation in the Tropca Hotel. Landscape is intent to promote participation in playing and enjoying the traditional games in Terengganu. Located near to Padang Maziah in order to welcoming the pass-by passenger to get involved or have a sight of the traditional games which are on going.

The hotel rooms with balcony are oriented in a 45-degree angle to maximise the scope of view and allow all the customers to have a spacious view of Kuala Terengganu. The landscaping for traditional games is right adjacent to them. The guest could have a view of them and might be attracted and get joined into their games.

The sizes of balconies are varied in descending order to create a terraced facade. Meanwhile, it could reduce the volume of the facade and avoid a bulky image of the hotel design.Beside, with its orientation and the application of green panels, they had increase the playfulness of facade which respond to the view to Sungai Terrenganu.

There are a total of 44 hotel units in Tropca, 4 types of hotel units provided, which include disabled friendly room, twin/queen room, 2 type dorm room with maximum 8-pax capacity.The disabled friendly room is located near the lift lobby for easy accessibility. The disabled friendly room and normal twin/queen room is designed to fit in either 2 single bed or a queen room.

Combination of Room

Queen size bed is provided in one room and a twin bed for the next. The rooms are combinable as one and it depends on customer preferences. With the combination of rooms, it could form a big family room. However, they could have different views on the mural art in the air well.

Privacy Enhancement 
The balcony of the room is oriented in a 45-degree angle to maximise the scope of view. However, this orientation of the balcony gives a direct will into the neighbour balcony. The green climber panel is applied to limit the direct view from neighbours and make people happier and more productive by bringing in natural elements to place.

View to Site Surrounding

Natural  Ventilation
The balcony of the room is oriented in a 45 degree angle to lead the natural air flow into the room to improve ventilation. Besides, it is also capable of managing the amount of light penetrating into the rooms and providing a comfortable temperature for customers.

In order to maximise the view to the Sungai Terrengau, the bathroom of the hotel room units are forced to be placed avoid from the balcony. Thus, the toilet is attached to the passage, while the air-well is applied in the bathroom-hotel room to allow natural ventilation. Beside, there are many murals that are observed at the China Town Backlane and also the old Pasar Payang. Delivering some message to the public to arouse the cultural awareness in Kuala Terrenganu. Thus, the traditional games mural also applied on a piece of wall in the air well for decoration purpose.

Features:

The exposed brick applied on the air-well which has a rough surface which is able to absorb sound effectively and it is proficient in preventing sound reflection or echo which might distract the hotel guest.

The air well is used to allow air flow into the building. Meanwhile, it also provides unique murals for decoration purposes.

The natural water and grey-water are piped to a surge cistern, and it will be discharged to the public sewerage system or irrigation treatment.

Photovoltaic panel 
It supplies renewable energy source continuously i.e. solar energy and it deals the least negative impact on the environment compared to other sources of energy. Besides, it is applicable everywhere as long as there is exposure of sun and reduce the loss of electricity during the long-distance transport.

Natural Ventilation
The function of patio and balcony is intent to speeding up the air flow into the interior, through the shaded outdoor space and hence creates the natural ventilation, which keeps the indoor temperatures and humidity low.

Natural Light Ventilation 
The balcony as a transition area which could promote a better air and wind ventilation and providing a comfortable temperature in the room.

Application of Louver

Provide louvers to the building to regulate airflow and light penetration throughout the building. It is often used in tropical country like Malaysia to achieve true vision without sacrificing performance.

Coolen stone path way
Bringing in cool air into the building through natural ventilation. The clean natural water is stored and collected in the stone and evaporated to become cool air and is brought  into the building.

Green climber panel
Green climber panel can reduce the negative behaviors such as stress and fatigue and make people happier and more productive by bringing in natural elements to place. Besides, it is energy cost effective as plants reduce overall temperatures of building through transpiration process.

Grey water system
A grey water system diverts waste water either by gravity or through a pump to an irrigation or a treatment and recycling system. The grey water is water from basin, baths, and showers and also the rainwater collected from the top roof planter box that will be piped to a surge tank and after that it would be discharged to the sewer or irrigate to the ground.
